People are exposed to literally 100’s of marketing messages every single day so making your restaurant standard out is not as easy as you may think. When getting materials like A Board posters, fliers and leaflets design remember to keep the key message concise – too much text and the item will be thrown in the bin. Stick with your main brand message and the purpose of the item. Always use good quality photos on any restaurant graphic design – as they say, a picture paints a thousand words. Some tips on restaurant’s A Board graphic design will be to remember that it’s an A Board. This may seem obviously but many restaurant A Boards have the key message somewhere near the bottom of the poster – ie a few inches from the pavement. The key message must go at the top where they are easy to read in passing. Keep the text to an absolute minimum – remember that people are walking as they read, in most cases they will not stop to read. Less text also means that the font sizes can be bigger therefore the A Board will be more catching and read from further away. The principles are the same for restaurant fliers – concise message, larger fonts and a good photo. However, if the flier is designed to act as a voucher then add boxes for customers to enter their details for the customer database.
Leaflets can be used in many different locations to help promote your restaurant, from tourist information centres to local hotels, they can also be included in all other marketing promotions. With leaflets you have more space to play with. The standard leaflet is A4 with 2 folds which gives you 6 panels to promote different aspects of your restaurant.
